Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q. Where should I stay? Is there a host hotel?

A: The buses leave from the historic haunted El Cortez Hotel & Casino at 8:30am Saturday the 23rd of August. The discount rate is $96 per night, plus fees and taxes. Contact the hotel directly by phone at 800-634-6703 and use the discount code LPGRP0825 for the “Behind the Screams Tour” group rate. The block ends on Aug. 15, but they will honor the block as long as they have availability.

Q: Who is this tour designed for?

A: This tour is specifically designed for professional haunted attraction owners, operators, managers, and lead designers. It is a high-level, peer-to-peer event focused on business strategy and design analysis, not a typical fan tour.

Q: What is included in the ticket price?

A: Your ticket is all-inclusive for the day of the tour. It covers all admission fees to all attractions (including unlimited entry at Universal Horror Unleashed), a themed lunch and dinner, private bus transportation between venues, and all associated tips and taxes.

Q: What is NOT included in the ticket price?

A: Airfare and hotel accommodations are not included.

Q: What does a “lights-on backstage tour” actually involve?

A: A lights-on tour is a rare opportunity to walk through an attraction with the house lights up and the show elements turned off. We are not playing the game; we are touring the building and total play space.

Q: I’m driving to Las Vegas, can I drive along on the tour?

A: Yes, but the tour price is the same. We have to pay for the bus even if you don’t use it. You are welcome to drive, but then you have to pay for parking. Ride the bus, it’s more fun and you might meet someone to change your life.

Q: Can we take photos?

A: Yes and no! In the common areas, photos are fine, as are the photos, but inside an attraction with other patrons, taking photos is just rude, and so are spoilers. In the John Wick Experience and Escape IT attractions, some photos will be allowed, but I request you keep it to a minimum and take photos of the cool sets and scenery and not the games and secrets of the games. The whole concept of Meow Wolf is as a selfie museum, so take as may as you like!

Q: How strenuous is the tour?

A: Yes, please be prepared for a significant amount of walking. Comfortable shoes are essential.

Q: What is your cancellation policy?

A: All ticket sales are final and non-refundable. However, tickets are transferable to another qualified industry professional. Please notify us of any name changes.

Q: Once the tour is sold out, is there a waiting list?

A: Sorry, no! We have a limited number of tickets to these attractions and once they are sold, there are no more.

Q: Is there anything else of interest to haunters to do in Las Vegas?

A: Ah… Yeah! Gamble for one thing, plus shows concerts food and drink galore, for starters. Of special interest are the Mob Museum, Museum of Illusions, Paradox Museum, Madame Tussauds Wax Museum, Bodies Exhibit, to name a few.

There is also Zak Bagan’s Haunted Museum, which if you are a non-believer, like I am, this was more like the “man eating chicken” side shows of old, but there is some interesting sets, just be prepared to bite your tongue to keep from laughing out loud at other people falling for the hype.
